Lemons with Jug II

12” x 10” -  Oil  on Canvas

The white jug was a find from the local thrift shop. The inscription on the bottom reads "Super vitrified Grindley Hotelware Co. England ”.My mind drifts—how many years of serviced for the jug before retiring? Did it hold cream, gravy, syrup for the many guests? Conversations it must have been privy to. The silver cup was given to my g-great-grandfather from his employees in 1888 and the linen cloth was another vintage find. The bright new lemons, however, bring a fresh element into the mix. The old and new, the past and the present, forever intertwined.

Only high quality professional grade materials and paints were used in this artwork. The artwork is varnished (Gamvar) and the sides are painted.
